Issues
Jessica Breugelmans is a mom, former teacher, and small businesswoman running for State Senate to fight for Illinois families. A lifelong resident of the Fox Valley, she’s tired of seeing Springfield raise taxes while ignoring the voices of parents and working people. Jessica is stepping up to bring transparency to education, protect fairness in girls’ sports, and stop tax hikes that hurt families and small businesses. She’s not a politician — she’s a mom on a mission to bring common sense back to state government.
Stop Tax Hikes
Illinois families are being pushed to the brink. While costs rise on everything from groceries to school supplies, politicians in Springfield are demanding more — more taxes, more spending, and bigger government. Jessica will fight against new taxes like the proposed $1.50 delivery tax and service taxes on everyday needs such as haircuts, car repairs, and home maintenance. These are basic necessities, not luxuries.
Jessica will stand up for working families and say no to bailouts and blank checks for Mayor Brandon Johnson.
Take Back Our Schools
As a former teacher, homeschool parent, and philanthropist, Jessica has seen how bureaucracy and red tape have left families in the dark. She knows what it’s like to fight for your child’s education. That’s why she’s committed to restoring transparency, demanding accountability, and giving parents a real voice in the classroom.
Education should serve students and families — not political agendas.
Protect Girls’ Sports
Jessica is a former competitive gymnast and coach who knows firsthand what sports can teach young women: confidence, discipline, and leadership. She believes in protecting fairness in girls’ sports and supports policies that ensure biological females compete on a level playing field. This isn’t political — it’s about protecting opportunity and respecting the hard work of young women across Illinois.
Jessica believes fairness isn’t negotiable — every girl deserves a level playing field and a chance to compete with confidence.
