Meet Jessica

Mom. Educator. Advocate for Illinois Families.

Jessica Breugelmans is a passionate advocate for families, fiscal responsibility, and education reform. A lifelong resident of the Fox Valley, Jessica is running for State Senate in Illinois’ 33rd District to fight for the working families who are being asked to do more with less.  

Jessica brings a unique perspective shaped by real-world experience. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Business Management from Bradley University and a master’s degree in Teaching from Aurora University. She has worked in classrooms, built a small business from the ground up, homeschooled her son, and previously served as the academic coordinator for the Chicago Steel hockey team, helping student-athletes balance school and sports.  

As a former teacher and education consultant, Jessica has spent years advocating for students and families. She’s a regular presence at local school board meetings, asking tough questions about curriculum, spending, and transparency. She’s also served on the Geneva Academic Foundation and scholarship committees with the Community Foundation of the Fox River Valley, working to ensure students of all backgrounds have the support they need to succeed.  

Jessica is a mom who understands what Illinois families are going through. She knows how hard it is to stretch a paycheck while the cost of living continues to rise. She’s watched as politicians in Springfield push billions in new taxes—like a delivery tax, a service tax, and other proposals that would hit families and small businesses hardest. Jessica is stepping up to say: enough is enough.  

She is also a former competitive gymnast and coach who understands the importance of fair play and opportunity. That’s why one of her top priorities is protecting fairness in girls’ sports and standing up for the values that matter to parents across Illinois.  

Jessica was raised in a trades household. Her father owns a manufacturing plant in South Elgin, and she carries with her the work ethic and values she learned growing up. She’s not a career politician. She’s a mom, a teacher, and a fighter who’s ready to bring real-world accountability to Springfield.
